Hi everyone! Its time for another Skipping Stones Design Tuesday sketch! I'm sneaking a peek at a new SSD stamp set that will be available for sale in Feb. All you cat lovers are going to LOVE this one!

supplies used: Skipping Stones Design stamps, Copics, Kreaxions Circle Cutter, ribbon, netting, buttons

To create the paw prints, I used the large and small circle stamps from Garden Stamp Kiss Set. I stamped the large circle once and then added three small circles for toes. Black buttons were added over the center of the paw. Did you know you could cut buttons? Where the paw prints went off the edge of the paper, I simply cut the button.

Good morning! Today I'm sharing a card that I have up on the Kreaxions blog. There's a few sneak peeks at some of the new Stampendous stamps and essentials coming out.

ink: Versamark,Distress Ink

paper: Bazzill cardstock , Best Creations pattern

punches: Kreaxions 4 in 1 punch #905

Directions:

1. Stamp Nest in Versamark and emboss with Aged Taupe

2. Color with Antique Linen Distress Ink in center of nest and Broken China Distress Ink on the rest of the page. Sprinkle water on inked paper.

3. Stamp solid egg image in Versamark and emboss with Aged Ivory embossing powder.

4. Cut slit in nest and adhere eggs in nest.

5. Stamp sentiment in Versamark and emboss with Clear Bark embossing powder.

6. Adhere Best Creations pattern paper to the cardfront.

7. Punch border using Kreaxions Punch #905 from two colors of cardstock and overlap. Adhere to card.

8. Adhere stamped panels to the card. Embellish with a torn fabric bow.

Instructions

Stamp botanical images on watercolor paper. Color with watercolors and Distress Ink. Add gold glitter.
Cut stamped images and pattern paper into squares. Mat with black cardstock.
Adhere stamped images, photo and pattern paper to cardstock.
Adhere title stickers to layout.

Skipping stone designs SSD111

Hi everyone! Welcome back for another Skipping Stones Designs Sketch Challenge! As soon as saw this weeks sketch I couldn't wait to try creating a scrapbook layout with it!

Supplies used: Skipping Stones Designs (Grunge & Healing Wings), Reminisce pattern paper, Stampendous glitter, Copics Memento ink, Versamark, Canvas Corp tags and pattern paper, Pink paislee alphabet stickers

I embossed the wood grain image in the Canvas Corp tags in white embossing powder. I LOVE this wood grain image. It adds the perfect bit of subtle detail to any project.

The butterflies were stamped in memento ink and then colored with comics. To give them some shimmer I applied adhesive to the entire image and covered them in crystal glitter. To create the antenna I simply adhered a folded piece if black thread to the backs of them.

Notice the flecks of blue on the photos? If you're friends with me on Facebook, you may remember me posting about a cleaning mishap. I sprayed my cutting mat with all purpose cleaner and accidently oversprayed everything beyond the mat...like my photos. Ooops! Wegmans Cleaner with Bleach actually has bleach in it, lol! It left bleach speckle marks on everything it hit. I reprinted the photos and continued on with the layout I was working on at the time, but couldn't bring myself to throw away the ruined photos. And I'm glad I didn't! They actually look kinda cool on this layout!

With the temperatures in the 20s this weekend, we pretty much stayed in and hibernated. brrrr! It gave me a chance to get a lot of stamping and scrapping done. :)

Supplies used: Kreaxions punch # 303, Stampendous Nest Egg SSC1140 Perfectly Clear Set (NEW), Stampendous Cling Lone Bird, Stampendous Dream Text Cling, Stampendous Shabby Blue Embossing Powder, Stampendous Clear Bark Embossing Powder & Aged Taupe Embossing Powders (NEW), Stampendous Powder Blue & Taupe Color Fragments (NEW), Versamark, Bazzill cardstock and watercolors

Instructions:

1. Stamp nest in Versamark and emboss with Aged Taupe embossing powder. Cut out image.

2. Stamp birds in Versamark and emboss with Clear Bark embossing powder. Cut out images. You will only need the bird heads to fit in the nest. Trim to fit.

3. Cut a slit in the nest. Insert bird heads.

4. Apply wet adhesive to nest around birds. Sprinkle on Color Fragments and allow to dry.

5. Stamp Dream Text on cardstock and trim.

6. Punch border with Punch 303. Stitch to cardstock strip.

7. Splatter blue watercolors on cardfront. Allow to dry.

8. Sprinkle Shabby Blue embossing powder on cardfront. Heat from underneath.

9. Adhere elements to the card with adhesive and foam tape.

It has tiny specks of gold in the embossing powder that are so pretty!

Instructions:

Stamp border in Versamark four times to create a boxed out area in the center of the layout.
Emboss with Aged Ivory Embossing Powder.
Stamp Hollycock on watercolor paper. Color with watercolor pencils and cut out. Apply crushed glitter to the flower centers.
Adhere pattern paper and photos to layout.
Adhere stamped flower image to the layout.
Add title with alphabet stickers.

From Zig Zags to Argyle

Hey peeps! Popping in quickly to share a bit of a tutorial that I have up on the Skipping Stones Design Blog today. Love the new zig-zag (chevron) design in the Grunge 2 stamp set? Well check out some fun ways to use it...

Supplies Used: soup cans, spray paint, 2 shades of green ink, Versamark, white embossing powder, kraft, white and green cardstock, twine, buttons

There is the traditional zig-zag pattern...

Or how about stamping it one direction, then changing color, flipping the stamp and stamping it in the opposite direction. You get a cool argyle pattern...

Dig out those dye based markers and ink them up in a rainbow of colors...

Here is an example of the argyle pattern used on a tag...

And here is one pattern paper that was created by embossing the design in white embossing powder....

Heart punches to Pattern Paper..

Hi everyone! Today I'm sharing a card that I created for Kreaxions Punches using 4 in1 punch #911.

In order to create the heart background, you're going to need a lot of heart punches. Using a rainbow of colored cardstock, punch #911 saving the hearts.

To line the hearts up perfectly, I used a little trick. I stamped a polka dot background on a piece of cardstock to use as a guide to glue my hearts. If you don't have polka dot stamp, you could always use graph paper. Holding the graph over your cardstock, poke a hole at each of the intersecting lines into your cardstock.

When you're done, trim the heart background. Add a piece of contrasting cardstock, ribbon, bow and a sentiment and you have a Valentines Day card.

Skipping Stones Designs SSD110

Welcome to Skipping Stones Design Sketch Challenge #110 and the release of Grunge Two! If you just came from Taylor's blog, you are in the right place. If you just happened along my blog today, start at the beginning of the hop at Skipping Stones Design. The entire hop order is there and you can hop from blog to blog with ease.

The splatter stamp in the Grunge 2 set reminded me a bit of flowers/greenery so I used it to create a garden background for the butterfly in the Healing Wings set.

Here is a closeup of the background. I inked the stamp up with a few shades of green inks and turned the stamp different directions as I stamped it.

I wrapped the panel with tulle and tied a bow under the butterfly. I stamped additional butterflies on the black cardbase and embossed them with clear embossing powder.

Good morning! Its time for a new Stampendous Saturday Challenge! This months challenge is BLING! Gems, pearls, mica flakes, chunky glitter....we want to see bling!

Supplies Used:

Stampendous SSC031 Timeless Tags, SSC605 Journal Border, Time Flies SSC1131
Stampendous Frantage Tarnished Mica Fragments
Derwent Inktense watercolor pencils
Ranger Distress Inks
Versafine Vintage Sepia
Bazzill cardstock

I created this layout of my oldest son and myself for the fall Stampendous catalog and it was definitely one of those projects where I just played! Since the tag stamps had a great old style, I tried to play up the grungy style. Using masking I created the tag background paper. To give it depth, I added shadowing with colored pencils. With the exception of 4 tags, the entire background is one layer. I've brought in a bit of bling with the Mica Flakes, but its definitely a subtle bling.

Instructions:

Stamp tags 2-3 times on scrap paper and cut out.
Using cut out tag stamps as masks, stamp tags on the entire cardstock sheet.
Add shadows under tag images with watercolor pencils.
Add color to the images with Distress Inks.
Splatter white paint on the layout.
Stamp wings and clock from Time Flies in Sepia ink. Cut out and add color with Distress Inks.
Mat photo on brown cardstock. Adhere to layout.
Stamp more tags on cardstock. Color and cut out. Adhere to layout with foam adhesive.
Stamp lines from journaling image on tag. Add journaling.
Adhere clock embellishment to tag.
Stamp sentiment randomly on tags on layout.
Embellish with Mica Fragments.

Hi everyone! Welcome back for another Skipping Stones Design Tuesday Sketch Challenge. We're excited to be welcoming Pamela Young as January's sketch artist along with Julie Day, Emily Leiphart, and Candice Fields.

Can you tell I'm in a rainbow mood these past two days? Maybe its the cold weather making me long for summer! Yesterday's card was made using some of the cardstock scraps from this card.

Supplies Used: Skipping Stones Designs (Grunge & Healing Wings), Stampendous Clear Embossing Powder, Versamark, cardstock, Memento Ink, Copics

Instructions:

Cut a rainbow of cardstock colors approximately 1/2 x 4 inches.
Stamp woodgrain image with Versamark. Emboss with clear embossing powder.
Adhere strips of cardstock to a scrap of cardstock in rainbow order. Round corners and wrap with ribbon.
Adhere to cardfront.
Stamp sentiment in Memento ink. Highlight the word "color" with pink, orange, yellow, green and blue copics.
Adhere sentiment to cardfront.

Colorful Thanks...

Supplies Used: Kreaxions Punch #310, cardstock, Stampendous Ultra Fine Glitter, Annabelle Stamps (Teresa's Numbers), embroidery floss

Instructions:

Using a rainbow of colors, cut cardstock 1 x 2 inches.
Stamp sentiment on white cardstock and adhere to cardfront.
Adhere the rainbow of cardstock strips to cardfront.
Using punch #310, punch a border. Trim edges.
Apply double stick tape (red line tape) to the back of the border strip completely covering the open punched areas.
Adhere punched piece to cardfront.
Apply ultrafine glitter to the punched area. The double sided adhesive will show through the punched area and pick up the glitter. Brush off extra glitter with a brush.
Wrap with a length of black embroidery floss and tie in a bow.

Is everyone ready for 2012? I'm not big on making New Years Resolutions since they pretty much leave the rest of the year open after you break them by March, lol! Instead I prefer to have a goal for the new year. My goal for this year is to finally start up an etsy store. :)

I'm approaching one of those big landmark birthdays (sniff) and I want to do it looking and feeling fabulous, so I also have a goal to get back into better shape. I think the Etsy goal sounds alot more attainable (and fun) ;)

Hi everyone! Today I'm sharing a card I made using one of Skipping Stones Designs Sets of the Month...Pumpkin Seed Sentiments.

I embossed the cream Canvas Corp tag with Pumpkin Seed Sentiments in white embossing powder. I love the subtle tone on tone effect! I paired it up with some fun colorful Canvas Corp pattern papers. Isn't that green paper yummy? A bit of Creative Impression ribbon tied with embroidery floss and Making Memories stickers finish off the tag.

Skipping Stones Designs Sketch 108

Hi everyone! Welcome back for another Skipping Stones Design Tuesday Sketch! This month we were generously sponsored by Canvas Corp. I know I said I would be switching over to Valentines cards soon, but when I started playing around with the Holiday Cats and realized it fit nicely over the fisherman in the Holy Carp I just had to make one more holiday card!

supplies used: Skipping Stones Design (Holy Carp, Holiday Cats, Sentiment Frames, and Grunge), Canvas Corp pattern paper, Copics

To mimic the vertical panel in the sketch I knew I wanted to try to bring more nautical elements in so I sketched a buoy.

The waves were created by snipping half circle waves out of the aqua Canvas Corp pattern paper and inking the edges a bit.

I added texture to the boat, but stamping white metallic ink over the boat.

Is everyone ready to fight the crowds for the After-Christmas sales? Since the holidays are still going on, I figured its safe to share another holiday card that I created for Kreaxions punches. This will probably be the last one before I switch gears and start working on Valentines cards! :)

Supplies Used: Kreaxions Punch #305, Darkroom Door Yuletide Vol 1 Stamps, Distress Inks, Cuttlebug folder, Bazzill cardstock, twine, Stampendous white embossing powder

Instructions:

Stamp images on tag with Distress Inks. Age edges of the tag with Distress Inks.
Stamp sentiment and emboss with white embossing powder.
Punch border from white cardstock using Punch 305. Adhere border to tag. Wrap with twine.
Emboss card front with embossing folder. Adhere tag to card front.

Good morning and welcome back for another Skipping Stones Designs Sketch Tuesday. I had fun working with the Canvas Corp pattern paper this week. You can see a tiny strip of it below the stamped background paper, but did you know that the butterfly is actually created from a Swirl pattern that I cut out the circles and used for butterfly wings. The butterfly body is a piece of black jute from their tags.

Holly Jolly Wreath

To create the wreath, I pulled out a wooden craft floral wreath ring from DIY bangles. Using inexpensive yarn from Lion Brand Yarn I began wrapping the wreath ring. I wrapped and I wrapped and I wrapped. I seriously underestimated how long the wrapping part would take, lol!

Next I pulled out my Stampendous Jumbo Cling Holly Stocking and began stamping holly leaves on kraft cardstock. I colored them with colored pencils, added highlights with a white sharpie and cut them out.

Next I adhered pieces of wire to the back of the holly leaves so that I could tuck them into the yarn. I had the idea that I could interchange the ornamentation on the wreath for the seasons.

All that was left to do was to add a fancy bow and hang it up! Just in time for Christmas!

I used the sketch to create some tags for Christmas. They're all a little bit different in their interpretation of the sketch. I used the red striped on the Canvas Corp pattern paper as a spot to stamp some background pattern with Pumpkin Seed Sentiments. The scallop stamped edge was created with the wave in the Holy Carp set.

remember… the only person you are really competing with is your elf.

That silly elf just can't seem to keep himself out of trouble some days. Lookie who we found on our tree...

I resized the digi images down to about 2.5 x 2.5 inches (depends on the size of your glass balls) and create a mirror image. Print out both the original and the mirror image.

Color both elves.

Cut out both elves (carefully! Those tiny arms and legs aren't the easiest to cut out.) When you're finished cutting them out glue them back to back with a piece of fishing line in the middle. Run markers around the edges of the elf to clean up the edges.

Now its time to slip that naughty boy into his hiding spot. Carefully fold the arms and legs in and slip him into the glass ball. Hand onto the fishing line so you can position him when he's in. If his arms and legs are still folded in a bit, slip a paintbrush or something tiny in and carefully push the paper down. DON'T stick your finger in the glass ball and attempt to do this. Lets just say I learned that the hard way last year.

And because elves are magical creatures he needs a bit of sparkle. Add a bit of Stampendous Shaved Ice or Glitter.

Add the ornament top back on. Add a bow and hand on the tree!

I had so much fun playing with this cute elf I had to make a card to go along with the ornament. I colored him in with Copics and added lots of Shaved Ice for sparkle.

To create the snowflakes I used the Kreaxions Punch #312. I added glue to both sides of the snowflakes and dipped them into the glitter. Lots of sparkle!

I have one more project to share with you. I was in an ornament making mood, so I dug out my Amber Ink Fish Wishes Clear Set (aka Willem's Fishes) and set to work. I stamped the fishing pole image on Stampendous Acetate in Archival Ink. When it was dry I flipped it over and colored it with Copics. Using a Kreaxions Circle cutter, I cut the image out. Roll the image to fit it in the glass ball. For the sand, I colored in glass hole less beads with Copic refills and poured them into the ball. Add a bit of ribbon and you're done! This ornament will be going to my little fishing addict this year.

From Recycled Plastic to Flowers...

Good morning and happy Monday! Today I'm sharing a card that I created for the Kreaxions blog today.

Supplies Used:

Kreaxions Punch 305

Kreaxions Circle Cutter

Basic Grey paper and stickers

clear plastic from Noodle container

Instructions:

Punch border using Kreaxion punch 305.
Adhere punched border to cardstock. Adhere to card.
Machine stitch pattern paper and adhere to card.
Cut three circles from clear packaging. Heat with heat gun to warp. Be sure to have proper ventilation. Add brad to center of circles. Add white paint to edges.
Embellish card with alphabet stickers, ribbon and plastic flower.

Basic Grey- Lost and Found (for my found object I used a piece of plastic from the Chinese Noodle package.

Stampendous Saturday-Chipboard Challenge

Welcome back for another Stampendous Saturday Challenge. This is the last week to participate in November's challenge of Chipboard. This month we are giving away a Cling Jumbo Songbird set to a random winner. You don't have to use a Stampendous image or products to play along, but we sure love it when you do! You have until Thursday, December 1 at 11:59 PM EST to add your link to the linky tool, and we'll draw a random winner. You can enter as many times as you'd like.

I used an oval chipboard frame from Scenic Route to frame the Stampendous Boston MA Cling Stamp. I stamped the image in Memento on linen and then colored it carefully with Copics. To create the puffy effect, I adhered the linen to the back of the chipboard frame, added a bit of stuffing behind the fabric and adhered it down to the card. A bit of twine was added around the frame to add a nautical feel.

Decorative Organization

I found as I was working on a stamping project this week that I was taking more time to test out ink colors than actual stamping. With a few stickers, machine stitching and cute Kreaxions Lotus punched out of cork, organization can be as cute as your projects!

Instructions:

1. Using a word processing program, type out your ink color names. Trim.

2. Stamp each color ink under name using a line stamp.

3. Trim kraft cardstock to 2 x 4 inches. Adhere ink colors to tag. Add machine stitching.

4. Decorate cover with stickers, Lotus #603 Kreaxions punch from cork, brad and machine stitching.

5. Braid twine and bind tags with twine.

I shared a fun technique...Crackle Paint with Elmer's Glue. No need to rush out to the store for supplies because chances are you have everything you need right in your craft space. Here is a video I created to highlight the technique...

Today I'm sharing a card I made for the last Stampendous catalog. We're busy busy busy working on the new catalog right now. Fun stuff!

pattern paper: Canvas Corp (Black & White Fresh Word Reverse CCP2238)

ink: Momento

coloring medium: Copics

ribbon: Creative Impressions

cardstock: Bazzill, Mohawk white

Instructions:

1. Stamp image in Momento on white cardstock.

2. Color image with Copics.

3. Mat image with red pattern paper.

4. Mat pattern paper with red cardstock and adhere to cardfront.

5. Wrap ribbon around focal image and tie in knot.

6. Adhere focal image to cardfront with popdots.

Rustic Tiles is a versitile set, that you are about to see from our fabuous Design Team. If you just came from Chan's blog, you are in the right place. If you just happened along my blog today, start at the beginning of the hop at Skipping Stones Design. The entire hop order is there and you can hop from blog to blog with ease.

I stamped background using Rustic Tiles and heat embossed it with Clear embossing powder. To create the sunflower, I layered 2 felt Creative Impressions #62102 flowers, added a button and snipped the prongs off a few Creative Impression brads and added them to the button. The sentiment was cut using Street Sign Cricut cartridge. I spritzed them with Clearsnap Smooch GingerAle to give them some shimmer.

Supplies Used to Create Card:

Kreaxions Punch #802
cardstock
Making Memories alphabet stickers

Instructions for Completing Card:

Flip punch 802 upside down and punch a continuous design.
Mat punched strip with darker cardstock.
Adhere punched strips to the cardfront on a diagonal, leaving a 1.5 space in the center.
Spell out "Noel" in alphabet letter stickers in the center of the card on a diagonal.

Stampendous Fran*tage Encrusted Jewel Hop

Welcome to the Stampendous "Fran•tage Encrusted Jewel Hop"! All of us on the Stampendous Design Teams are sooo excited about this new technique...an accidental creative process discovered by our own Fran Seiford, Chief Artistic Officer at Stampendous! There is a quote that says, "There are no mistakes, just opportunities for embellishment!" How true is that?

Lots of embossing on this card. I used the Encrusted embossing technique on the chipboard star. First I painted it with paint and embossed it with Sunny Yellow EP. While it was still hot, I dumped on a bit of Champagne Crushed Glass Glitter. Finally I sprinkled a bit of Clear Lemon Embossing Powder over the piece and embossed again.

To create the sky, I used Fran's Painting with Embossing Powder technique. I swiped Versamark across the entire cardstock and then dumped on different shades of blue embossing powder, tapping off the extra before beginning a new stripe of color.

To create the snowdrifts, I tore two pieces of cardstock. One I embossed completely in Clear EP and then added some Shaved Ice while the EP was still hot. The other piece of cardstock I embossed with Shabby Blue Embossing Powder.

The cute little penguin is from the Cling Penguin Wishes set. I stamped him in Memento and colored him with Copics.

Crayon Resist at Skipping Stones Designs

Hi everyone! Today I'm sharing a fun tutorial over at Skipping Stones Designs - Crayon/Wax Resist. This is a simple technique with such pretty results.

Supplies you will need:

favorite Skipping Stones Design stamp (I'm using Rustic Tiles)
either a white or wax crayon (I used a clear wax crayon that was left over from my kids Easter egg decorating kit, but these can be found in craft stores)
Dye Inks

Begin by stamping an image on white cardstock in dye ink. Look for an image that will have areas for you to color "white".

Now begin coloring in the areas you wish to remain white with the wax or white crayon. Finally all that is left to do is wipe dye inks over the stamped images using a blending tool. Wipe off the extra ink and watch your wax resist "pop".

You can create a number of different looks depending on the combinations of colors you use and also what areas you add the wax crayon resist to. All colored up they remind me of Mediterrian tiles. So pretty!

And here is the finished card! I add a sentiment from Sentiment Frames.

I hope you'll try out the crayon/wax technique! Have fun experimenting!

Skipping Stones Design Sketch #101

Hi everyone! Its time for another Skipping Stones Design Tuesday Sketch Challenge! When I saw this weeks sketch I though it would be perfect for a layout! I turned the sketch and added stamping with Rustic Tiles to mimic the scallops. Creative Impression brads fill the centers of the stamped images. I also used a Creative Impression metal embellishment to hold the ribbon.

The chipboard letters were originally purple and I inked them up with Versamark and covered them in Stampendous Aged Copper embossing powder.

The purple? Yep, my son wants to know why theres purple on his layout too, lol! Originally I was working with Christmas pictures that had alot of purple in them. I stamped out the cardstock and embossed it in purple before switching gears and using B/W photos instead. I loved the combination of black, purple, copper and white with the B/W photos!

If we pick you:

Each month for 3 months you’ll get new Stampendous products to use on your blog posts. We may consolidate shipments if you’re far away, but you’ll get at least 6 new stamp sets and other goodies over the course of your term.
You get to join our Stampendous DT yahoo group where we joke, laugh, have a blast and share great ideas and information.
We’ll need 1 project per week for 12 weeks. Projects are due on Thursday, but we’re flexible. We hope you’ll post the projects on your blog, too and use them for other challenges where appropriate.
We’ll invite you to participate in our Design Team challenges. This is optional, but fun!

So ink up your stamp pads and make some cool stuff! Submissions are due Thursday, November 10th by midnight PST. We’ll choose a team of 4 stampers by Friday, November 18th and mail out goodies. First project will be due Thursday, December 1st. Final submission due February 16, 2012. Remember this term goes through the Christmas holidays. You can send us your submissions as far ahead of time as you like to manage your time.

If you’d like us to consider a previous submission you’ve made, send us a note and maybe something new.

Hi everyone! I'm sharing a card that I created for the Kreaxions Blog today using Punch #311 and Stampendous Stretchy Spook Perfectly Clear Set.

I layered up the punches. Just one punch gave me both decorative edges. For the ghost I kept the coloring real simple with the pointilism technique. When I was finished I added dots of glue and glittered this cutie up!

Stampendous Saturday Challenge

Hi everyone! Welcome back for another Stampendous Saturday Challenge. This is the last week for the CAS Holiday card challenge. There's still time to get your card into Mr Linky for a chance at a prize!

This week I worked with Yule Penguins. I think these guys are just too cute!!! I couldn't resist the sentiment seeing as how we're gearing up for snow here on the east coast. (Yep, snow in October in NJ!)

I kept the Copic coloring really simple, by using the "pointilism" technique in the background. To add a bit of texture, I ran the card through the Cuttlebug with a snowflake embossing folder.

Skipping Stones Design Sketch #99

Good morning! Its Tuesday, so you know what that means....Skipping Stones Design Sketch Challenge! We are up to sketch #99! Wow! I turned the sketch on its side and coupled it with Cancer Schmancer & Sentiment Frames this week.

1. First I stamped the frames on the kraft card base in Versamark and embossed with white Stampendous Embossing Powder.

2. Nest wrap tulle around card base and tie a knot.

3. Cut a piece of kraft cardstock down to 2.5 x 3.5 inches.

4. Round the corners and edge them in white ink.

5. Stamp your sentiment on the lower corner.

6. Punch a hole in piece of cardstock.

7. Apply foam adhesive to the back.

8. Pull tulle through the hole and adhere your sentiment piece to the cardfront. Tie knot.

9. Handcut leaves. Apply leaves and flower to the card.

Featured Friday at Skipping Stones Design

Hi everyone! TGIF! Its also Featured Friday at Skipping Stones Design! Skipping Stones Designs has two stamp sets on sale for $12.49 this month, Wise Men and Christmas Swirls. Today I'm bring you a card made with the Wise Men stamp set!

I stamped the sentiment repeatedly on an angle. When I was finished I inked the edges with Peeled Paint Distress Ink and spritzed them with Tsukineko Sheer Shimmerz. I stamped the images over the text in Versamark and embossed with Stampendous gold embossing powder.

To finish the card off I added some hand cut holly leaves. The holly berries were made by wrapping a piece of plaid ribbon around the buttons and securing in the back with adhesive.

Skipping Stones Design sketch # 98

Its Tuesday, so you know what that means....Skipping Stones Design Sketch Challenge time! I had fun playing along with this week's sketch!

For the circle element I created a moon in the background. I cut a circle out and used it as a mask while I inked up my background. Keeping the mask in place I splattered water over the inked background creating the water distress marks. I spritzed a bit of Tsukineko Sheer Shimmer (Frost) on the background. When it was dry I pulled off the mask and colored in the moon.

Zinnias....

Hi everyone! I'm back with a card that I created for Kreaxions Blog using Kreaxions Punch # 310 and the soon-to-be released Stampendous Jumbo Zinnia stamp.

Supplies Used:

Kreaxions Punch #310
Stampendous (Cling Jumbo Zinnia stamp)
Tsukineko Brilliance (Platinum Planet)
Echo Park Alphabet Sticker border (Little Girl line)
ribbon

Instructions:

Stamp the Stampendous Zinnia repeatedly on the card front in Brilliance ink.
Punch a cardstock border using Kreaxions Punch #310. Be sure to line each punch up so it is touching the previous punched area to create the connected design).
Back the punched border with cardstock.
Add a border sticker to the punched border and embellish with stitching and ribbon.
Adhere the punched border embellishment to the card front.

Stampendous Saturday...Seasons Greetings

Good morning! Its Saturday so you know what that...Stampendous Saturday! This month we're challenging you to create Clean and Simple Holiday Cards. There is a Stampendous Cling Jumbo Sparkle Joy stamp for one lucky random player. You have till Thur Nov. 3rd 11:59 EST to add your creation to the linky tool.

Clean and Simple cards are kinda hard for me. I just want to keep adding a bit more to them. For this card I used a soon to be released Jumbo set Zinnia. You might be scratching your head wondering where the flower part is in the card. The Zinnia set comes with the background stamp. I stamped that repeatedly to create this gorgeous background. Its pretty on its own, but I went back and added a few dots of white acrylic paint to make the design "pop". Add a gorgeous red ribbon and a tag and you have a simple holiday card.

Welcome to Sketch Challenge #97 and the release of Christmas Song! If you just came from Taylor's blog, you are in the right place. If you just happened along my blog today, start at the beginning of the hop at Skipping Stones Design. The entire hop order is there and you can hop from blog to blog with ease.

I decided to use my stamps in a bit unconventional way. I stamped Rustic Tiles on white cardstock. Next I flipped the ornament stamp over and placed it on my acrylic mount. I inked it up and stamped with the back of the stamp in Versamark. Why? Because this would give me a solid image of the stamp that when embossed with clear EP would create an ornament for me to cut out. I used some of the foliage in Dandelion Dreams to create the tree bough.

From October 10-12 some of the best stampers are joining together to support and encourage our friend and fellow stamper, Katie Renz, who is currently battling inoperable gastric cancer.

If you're not familiar with her, Katie’s cancer story started just before Christmas last year. This young, beautiful, healthy, vibrant mother of 3 with her infectious smile was suddenly diagnosed with an inoperable cancer, virtually overnight. A few tummy aches and then stage 4 gastric cancer. Her first post about it is here. The idea of “Swimming for Katie” came from her recent post here.

Here is my card for Katie. I can't even begin to understand what she is going through. I hope all these cards and cheer will lift her spirits and show her just how loved she is!!!

Spooky Eyes...

Good morning and happy Monday! I'm sharing a card that I created for the Kreaxions Blog today with you. I've been having fun playing with the new Kreaxions punches and today's sample is another where the punch scraps became the focus of the card.

The bottom scrap of paper from Punch 309 reminded me of spooky eyes. A snip of the scissors, a hole punch scraps and a dot of paint...spooky eyes!

Stampendous Saturday Challenges

Good morning! I don't know about you, but this has felt like the longest week ever. How is it that the same 168 hours in a week can feel like an eternity some times? An injured kid & x-rays, a birthday for the hubs, back to school night, a classroom visit, and car trouble. But that ok, because we're ending the week on a happy note...a box of wooden goodness is showing up today (yay! expect some tutorials soon), an anniversary for my sweet hubs and me, and soccer for the boy! I <3 Saturdays!

Since its Saturday, you know what that means, right? Stampendous Saturday Challenge!!!! This month we are looking towards the holidays AND trying to keep it Clean and Simple. That's right - we are making Clean and Simple (CAS) holiday cards!!

I'm sure you've seen me do this Distress Ink background technique before. I like to sometimes create sheets of background sheets and store them away for future cards. For the tree image, I kept it super simple by blending on Peeled Paint Distress Ink and then adding hightlights with a white gel pen.

Pattern Paper from Snowflakes

Hi everyone! I'm sharing a card that I created for the Kreaxions Blog today. After creating the snowflake glitter card last week, I had a nice little pile of extra snowflakes laying on my desk. I was just about to sweep them into the trash bin when I started moving them around and seeing what patterns I could create with them. When lined up, ends touching, they create the coolest pattern.

Using white glue and a paint brush, I painted a dab of glue on each snowflake point and began adhering them down. When I had a few square inches done, I cut 1.5 inch squares from the pattern. To switch it up a bit I used red snowflakes on the bottom square. It looks time consuming but it really comes together quite quickly.

World Card Making Day!

My husband laughed at me when I told him it was World Card Making Day and told me to go make a card....so thats what I'm doing! There are lots of challenges and fun to be had online today! To start today's festivities how about joining us in this months Stampendous Challenge...Clean and Simple (CAS) Holiday cards!

I pulled out one of the new Jumbo Clings Holly Holidays to work with. I had so many ideas that I ended up making two cards. For this first card, I inked the holly image up with Shabby Shutters and Peeled Paint Distress Inks, spritzed them with water and then stamped on the off-white cardstock. The result is a gorgeous watercolor effect. I cut the holly paper out with my Kreaxions Circle Cutter. Next I cut a larger circle out, distressed both edges. To create the card base, I cut two more larger circles out with the Circle Cutter. I stamped Old World Greetings on kraft paper and adhered it to the card. I hand cut two holly leaves and added them to the card with some velvet dots from the Class A Peel Jumbo Stockings.

This next card is a completely different look using the Jumbo Holly Holidays. I stamped the holly leaves in Versamark and embossed with Clear Embossing Powder. Next I added Shabby Shutters and Peeled Paint Distress Inks and spritzed with water. I stamped Scrolled Season in Versamark on vellum and embossed with Moonstone Pearlustre. I layered the vellum over the card and added a twill bow for embellishment.

Here is a closeup of the card under the vellum. I love that Distress Ink technique!

Stampotique Bee Notebook

Today I'm back with another Stampotique project. I used that piece of pattern paper that I created a few weeks back with the Hexagon pattern on it to create a little 3 x 3 notebook. I love having a notebook to jot down notes and sketches. These books are easy to make and the perfect size to keep by the computer.

Supplies Used:

Stampotique stamps (Hexagon & Big Bee)
Derwent Inktense Watercolor pencils
Archival Jetblack Ink
twine
cardboard
graph/lined paper

Instructions:

Using a stamp positioner, stamp hexagon image repeatedly on white cardstock.
Color with watercolor pencils
Cut a piece of cardboard to 4 x 8.5 inches. Fold in center.
Cover cardboard with stamped paper. Trim edges.
Trim graph paper and notebook paper down to 4 x 8 inches.
Place graph paper and notebook paper in cover. Fold and punch holes in spine.
Loop twine through the holes in the spine. Tie with a bow.
Stamp bee on white cardstock and color with watercolor pencils. Cut out and add to cover of book.

Stampotique - Humorous Birthday

Hi everyone! The new challenge at Stampotique is Humorous Birthday. I used SuperGirl (6019) and Numeric (7164). I had so much fun coloring up SuperGirl. I made her a bit of a funky style and gave her some lime green highlights in her hair. To go with the party theme I cut a party hat for her and added a tulle tuft to the top. Tucked behind her is some black plastic fibers that used to be made by Magic Scraps.

I stamped the Numeric image repeatedly on the the background and embossed with Stampendous Lettuce embossing powder. I inked up the background with Black Soot Distress Ink. To grunge it up just a bit more, I laid down some drywall tape (Magic Mesh will work) and inked more Black Soot over the tape. When I removed the tape, I was left with a cool grid pattern.

To finish it off I typed up a sentiment on the typewriter, inked the edges and highlighted the word "old" with a Copic.

Hi everyone! Welcome back for another Skipping Stones Design Tuesday where every Tuesday we bring you a new sketch to try out. This weeks is another sketch by the fabulous Amy Sheffer!

I used Cancer Schmancer and Sentiment Frames for the card. I can't get enough of those butterflies. I stamped them in Memento and colored them with Copics.

After inking and coloring all the butterflies I thought it looked a bit plain, so I created some masks for the butterflies and inked the background up with Broken China Distress Ink. I splattered a bit of watercolors on the background.

The green paper that I used for my sentiment is actually a recycled from the trash bin. It came from an American Craft Adhesive Multipack. I thought the pattern was too pretty to throw away so I cut it out and saved it. Glad to finally put it to use on a card.

Glitter + Punches= Messy Fun!

Today I'm sharing a fun technique over at the Kreaxions Blog. By combining punches and glitter you can create some fun backgrounds!

Punch lots and lots shapes using your favorite punch.

Apply adhesive sheet to cardstock. Pull back protective cover and begin placing punches down on the adhesive. After you're done, put protective cover back over adhesive and brayer over the protective sheet. This will adhere the punches firmly without risking touching the adhesive with your fingertips and messing it up.

Pull off the protective cover and begin applying glitter. To be sure glitter is there to stay, burnish with a paint brush, brushing away extra.

Its the same cool technique that I did on the Stampendous Santa Canvas a few months ago, where you Mod Podge the stamped tissue paper onto burlap to create an awesome textured stamped project.

Hi everyone! Welcome back for another Skipping Stones Design Tuesday where every Tuesday we bring you a new sketch to try out. This weeks is another sketch by the fabulous Amy Sheffer!

I used the sketch and Skipping Stones Design Halloweenies set to create Boo Bags. My boys love going and "booing" their friends during the Halloween season!

Instead of two stripes I used three to mimic candy corn. To create the spider web, I twisted tulle tightly. Gotta love tulle!

The spiders are super easy to make. I have a tutorial for them up on my blog...HERE.
